Legal Link promotes and supports the expansion of the community justice worker model. We are happy to offer technical assistance to individuals and organizations who are new to, or in the process of, building justice worker programs in their community. Legal Link provides a range of services, including: guidance in early research stages, a customized Legal First Aid curriculum, Train-the-Trainers sessions, data evaluation, and ongoing remote support.
To date, we have supported partners across five states, including:
- In Charleston, South Carolina, in partnership with Georgetown School of Law, we helped to stand up the South Carolina Justice Navigators Network
- In Oklahoma, we supported the Oklahoma Access to Justice Foundation team to launch the Oklahoma Community Justice Network statewide.
- In New Hampshire, we are working with the judicial branch on a Community Spotters Project to help to identify and address legal issues across the state.
- In Michigan, we are working with Michigan Legal Help to build out their Community Justice Partner Program to highlight their existing tools and resources geared toward low-income clients and their advocates.
- In Virginia, we are launching a partnership with the Virginia Legal Aid Society this year to build out their Community Justice Worker Program.
