Legal Link provides the baseline training and technical assistance that enables Community Justice Worker programs, community and court-based navigator programs, and other initiatives to thrive in non-traditional legal settings. We support individuals and organizations—whether they are exploring new programs or scaling existing ones—by offering a comprehensive suite of services, including:

  • Guidance during early research and planning stages
  • Customized Legal First Aid® curriculum development
  • Train-the-Trainer sessions
  • Data evaluation and impact assessment
  • Ongoing remote support

Our goal is to equip programs with the tools and knowledge they need to embed legal empowerment in communities and expand access to justice.

To date, we have supported partners across six states and growing:

  • In California, we’ve trained 2,000+ frontline staff at social service providers, health clinics, and veteran offices to deliver Legal First Aid®, while innovating homelessness prevention strategies in the San Francisco Bay Area—our home and testing ground for scalable solutions.

  • In South Carolina, in partnership with Georgetown School of Law, we helped to stand up the South Carolina Justice Navigators Network.

  • In Oklahoma, we partner with the Oklahoma Access to Justice Foundation team to launch the statewide Oklahoma Community Justice Network, now in its fourth year.

  • In New Hampshire, we partnered with the judicial branch on a Community Spotters Project to help to identify and address legal issues across the state.

  • In Michigan, we partnered with Michigan Legal Help to build out their Community Justice Partner Program to highlight their existing tools and resources geared toward low-income clients and their advocates.

  • In Virginia, we partner with Virginia Legal Aid Society to build out their Community Justice Worker Program, now in its second year.
